Walnut shells have a high thermal mass that collect and then radiate the cold for a good portion of the night.
We recommend our organic cotton long neck pillow so you can lay it across your legs or wrap it around your shoulders. It can help you sleep on hot nights. You can also bring it along in a hot car to survive until the a/c kicks in.
Need a smaller pillow that takes up less space in your freezer? Go for the travel size.
Wrap your pillow in a plastic bag and put it in the freezer during the day so it is ready for your afternoon siesta, going to sleep on a hot humid night, or anytime you are battling a hot flash. Great for using on your lap to wind down / cool down before going to bed too.
We will pre-mix your dusted walnut shells + latex infused millet hulls (millet hulls added to soften the walnut shells).
For each weighted cooling pillow, you will receive 5.5 lbs of walnut shells + 2 lbs latex infused millet hulls (pre-mixed). Simply unzip the case and pour the fillings in to the desired amount.
If you are allergic to latex we can mix in plain millet hulls or simply send more walnut shells, just ask!
Hint: Make sure the zipper it shut all the way, parked deep inside the small fabric garage, as walnut shells are very fine and can escape the smallest opening.
Fun fact: Those are legs in the lead photo, but if it inspires other areas you need cooled down, let your imagination run wild :)

All natural materials will break down over time, creating some residual dust, just as nature has intended! This dust can easily be maintained, vaccumed easily or shaken out in a mesh bag.
Living with natural materials is a choice and does require some extra effort.
Chances are, if you are hear on our site, you already know if it is the right choice for you and your family.
You can order a sample (travel pillow?) to test out any materials you may not be familiar with.
Most natural products, right out of the bag, will have a scent but unfortunately the aroma ofthe materials usually dissapates over the first week.

Natural fillings should be kept dry (unless stated they are infused / washable in product description.
If they should get wet you can dry them by spreading them out in a thin layer to air dry.
Use our mattress protector sheets to keep liquids from spilling on your natural fillings.
Do not put in microwave. Our materials do not have thermal mass and do not work in heat pads.
Store unused materials in a sealed container and out of direct sunlight.
