This sweater had a stain on the front that just would not budge. Instead of throwing it out, I took out a few minutes (actually the entire project took 20 seconds) to make a pair of vases from the arms. The back of the sweater will eventually become part of another project I have planned as I love black and white.
Step 1. Cut off the arms with a straight cut keeping them as long as you can.
Step 2. Find an interesting shaped bottle from your recycling bin
Step 3. Slide the sweater arm over the bottle.
Note if your sweater is 100% wool you can felt it in the washing machine by basically shrinking it. This will also prevent the cut edge from fraying.
