Make a pet bed from an old sweater!

An amazing woman I know and her equally amazing daughter organized a pet bed making event in our town. We all got together at our community center on a rainy weekend with our old sweaters in hand. After a 5-minute lesson on the very pretty box stitch + where to sew the sweater, everybody was off making pet beds (all to be donated to our local animal shelter).

A loosened OYEB mattress sample pod which comes filled with 5 pounds of organic buckwheat hulls, turned out to be the perfect size to fill the center of the bed! I used some cotton remnants to fill the arms.

The sweater pet beds turn out a good size for a small to medium-sized dog. I can easily see using two sweaters to make a larger version.
