I have been sleeping on a buckwheat hull mattress for over 4 years now. I have gradually been losing weight but I do not know why. My diet and activity level has not changed but I am about 7 pounds lighter than I was 3 years ago. This morning I had a thought that it may be my mattress that is helping me trim down. I did a quick search and my old friend, Web MD came right up with an article that I actually had read before, but it made me think. I always knew getting a full 8 hours of sleep was important for maintaining a healthy weight but now I am thinking it is not the amount of hours you sleep, but the quality of that sleep that may be the key. Every morning I wake up with that feeling; the feeling that I had slept really hard, like I had been out climbing mountains the day before hard, but without the mountain climbing - it is a good feeling that is hard to describe. Anyway, it is not my intention to shout claims that hull mattresses will make you skinny, but it may be an interesting little experiment. Four years from now, I would love to hear if my customers are feeling it too!
